I THOUGHT I WAS WORKING
Yesterday I decided to quit smoking. Sure Jerry has been getting on my case about it, and I am concerned about health, but really it's because I don't want to keep spending the money on it. So I am on day 2 smoke free and it doesn't feel anywhere near as bad as I thought it would. Of course, if I head off to China or Japan and get around some of my friends who smoke, things may change. Anyway, for now, I am done. That may not be the only thing I am done with.

Recently, Jerry had a very bad day, with a failed job interview, problems at work and issues with her roommates. She decided to take it all out on me, which led to a big fight and now we're not talking. I'm not saying it's for good, as I really care about her, but I also have better things to do than listen to that nonsense. Among those better things is doing the work which is to build to my next adventures. I am gaining new techniques and picking up speed to a point that things could go over much better than I had ever imagined. But, with all the hours I'm putting in on this, I only thought I was working.
You see, me, Sally, Victor and Jerry are all really doing the same thing. We are all working to build up money for, of course, future plans and goals, but also because we want to enjoy another experience like we had last year in Cebu City, especially new years day. We all keep talking about it. I've been putting in some long days, for me anyway, but then I got an email from Victor, my trainer. It turns out he is working in the fitness center from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day training both single and group clients. I can imagine he must be tired, but also building up some serious money.
Needless to say, it all motivates me to push even harder, to really see how far I can go. I want to know what I could create if I really went all out. Then build up a stack so large I can run around and adventure while continuing to create my art at a nice reasonable pace. Based on recent experience, I could conceivably create for 2 or 3 hours per day and generate enough content to, if it finds an audience, make some serious money on the Japanese content sites. Right now, though, I want to work all day, for a while, and build up some major reserves before I get back to it. Besides, keeping busy should make the lack of smoke go unnoticed.

The other day, Jerry sent me this song called So What from Pink. I haven't been able to stop listening to it. Apparently it's her "kiss off" to her ex husband who left her, and I absolutely love the attitude behind it. The idea being, "So what? I'm still a rock star." It has a good sound to it too, but the thinking behind it is really awesome. Imagine, before getting too caught up in other's people's problems and messes, being able to take a step back, look at what you have and What you've accomplished, and say, "So what?" Well whatever happens, "So what? I'm still The Adventurer!
