CHATTING UP A STORM

I've been chatting with Jerry everyday now. It sounds like she is not completely happy with her choice to go to Australia. There are many things she likes there, but there are also many things she does not like. The view from her 51st floor apartment is nothing short of astonishing. I would give anything to have such an apartment and such a view. It beats the view from my previous Cebu City apartment by a mile. Her roommates, though, are another story. I guess she is not too happy with all of them.

I spend my days in front of the computer now, having found a good creative stride, so I am always in Skype's reach. It's easy enough for me to talk with a headset mic while I draw or work on other things. While at first she would occasionally call to chat for an hour or two, in the evening, now she often calls and leaves it on all day. I'm not complaining, though. Since we lived together 24/7 for some months, I think it is hard for us to be separated. I think we both have some regrets about leaving Korea.

Despite what I may have written about the weather, and the generally cold attitude of the populace, I am starting to miss quite a few things from Korea. Jerry has been sending me mp3 files of Korean music and video from Korean dramas. It makes me miss, at least, some of the entertainment and media related things I liked there. I also miss the gym I used to train at everyday. We both have talked about going back.

In fact, most of our conversations eventually come around to plans for the future, where we might go or what we might do. Of course, it is just talk. We both, at this point, need to focus, more than anything, on making money. We each have our big dreams and goals, and there is some overlap in there too. The key, though, is that accomplishing them takes money. We are both resolved, for now, to spend our days just working to make money for future plans.

Sometimes our conversations go on for hours, and even well into the late night or early morning. That part has its disadvantages. Jerry has, more than once, missed a class or other morning event because we stayed up too late chatting. I, too, have had trouble getting up and getting into my work on occasion. Still, it is fun overall and I do miss the fun we had when we were running around her old stomping grounds on a regular basis. Who knows if we will ever actually do these things we talk about or visit the places we dream of. If we do, it will be a most amazing adventure!

It's hard to tell. None of it means anything if I don't start building up my business and get mobile again. I'm drawing my ass off now and getting stuff up for sale in Japan. Once I get another Macbook and some dough, I'm back on the road.
