POWER ON!

The electricity is actually back! In a surprise move, after we had all but given up hope of seeing lights this month, the electric company truck just pulled up yesterday morning and hooked our power box back up! This basically allows me to get back to business in every way! One of the first orders of business was scanning in all of the photos I had from my travels around Japan and Korea. My friend gave me hard copies, so I was just waiting for the chance to scan them. Lucky for me, I not only got hold of this Quad Core Mac Pro, but my friend also had an HP All-in-One printer and scanner. All the images like the above have now made their way into my iPhoto library.

The excitement faded a bit when I realized what a chore it would be scanning all these photos one by one. That took of most of my morning today. Still, the job got done and I even got back to creating some new artwork to eventually push in Japan, which will be my primary business focus to fund my continuing adventures. At least that's what I think for now. Getting electricity wasn't the only interesting development to occur yesterday.

Back in 2002 I had an adventure in China. Working with a Japanese software distributor called DStorm, during their attempt at creating a branch office in Shanghai, I traveled throughout China and Japan doing demos of my computer graphics and animation work, using their software. Since that time, one of the Chinese artists I worked with left that company, formed his own studio and we've been trying to get together on some kind of project for years. Well, yesterday, he asked if I would like to go to China again, to do similar work, this time with his company. Not only that, he sees it possibly leading into creating videos and other products which we can sell. There is even talk of translating my current work into Chinese and selling it there. It's currently just ideas being thrown around, but who knows where the adventure can go next.

Now that I have all the photos scanned, I think it's time for a new gallery to cover some of this content. Having a Mac and all my software back up and running means I can make real changes to my pages again. The switch to all web based tools may have been good in Korea, but that is not necessary here, where my friend has a 3 Mb connection that is always on. Well, always in local terms anyway. There's so many things I can do now, I hardly know where to begin!

Nice pics! You look good and confident. Instead of broken and hopeless like me. [thumbs up!]

Knowing what's out here, there's never a reason to be broken and hopeless. There's a place somewhere for everyone, where they can find their rhythm. Maybe you should resume your search for it. Weren't you looking at Argentina at one time?
