PREPARING FOR CHANGE

Today I was all set to brave the cold, hard city and take the train to Seoul. It was a prospect I wasn't looking forward to since I was up so late last night. I was at the same PC Room, as usual, reading forums and writing mails, when Jerry called me and said they wouldn't be at the house until late. Yesterday was the grand opening of their new restuarant and after her day job, she went there to work with her parents. Seung Bin was there too, to eat and play in a nearby PC Room. Basically no one was at the house to let me in.

I went to the restaurant and had an awesome dinner. The food there is great. They expect the place to get even more busy on this Friday nite and thereafter. I believe it. After eating I simply waited, watching shows on the TV I couldn't understand. At one point Seung Bin was going to go home, and I with him, but then he decided to go shopping somewhere and disappeared. Jerry said that since she worked very early the next day she would finish at 10:00 PM and go home. That didn't happen as th eplace go tmore busy and more customers came in. We ended up going home around 2:00 AM.

When awoke this morning, I didn't feel at all like making this perilous journey on a train, following signs I can't understand, to try and find this ticket office. There had to be a better way. I called the ticket office again and asked if I could go to a wire service and pay them cash to send the money. They said that would work. Since Jerry had recently used a wire service to get her own ticket, to Australia, I remembered the name and logo of the company. I also remembered there was one in Yeong Tong where we often play.

I went to the wire service and the process was easy. I paid cash and gave them the account information of the company handling the ticket, and got my receipt. I called the company shortly after that to confirm they got the payment and the ticket was mine. They sent me the email, which I only need to print. As I mentioned before, I could nto change the ticket destination, only the date, so I still need to buy another ticket from Cebu City in the Philippines to Manila. Because it will be very early morning, the ticket is cheap at less than $30. I will soon be on my way.

Not having made the journey, I was left with a lot of time on my hands. I expected to be gone all day, which was good since Jerry would surely be working her day job and then all night at her parents restuarant, especially since tomorrow is Saturday. Hopefully Seung Bin will at least go home at some point, so I can sleep, otherwise I Will be at the PC Room all night. With that time on my hands, I decided to watch some movies.

A few days ago, when me and Jerry were in Yeong Tong looking for a place to eat, I saw a cinema and noticed that Push and the sequel to Fast and the Furious were playing. I decided to see both. First I saw the psychic, fighting movie Push. That was just plain cool. Shot in Hong Kong and done entirely like a Hong Kong film, that movie was too cool for words. I haven't seen anything that fun in ages. Of course, I haven't seen anything in ages I guess.

Next I saw the new Fast and the Furious. It was okay. It was great to see all the characters back, years later, for a new adventure, but I think if this were a stand alone movie with original characters, I probably would not have thought much of it. Still it was fun to watch the outrageous driving and car stunts.

Now there are only a few days left before I depart. I am expect to travel through Korea with my friend to see the ancient capital of SHilla on Sunday and Monday. Then a new adventure begins. New perils will likely await too. It's not going to be easy, but then what worth having ever is?

We did the shot where Vin stands on the road recreating how that girls car crashed and it tumbles through him. I did the previz in LW and it was ultimately completed by a team of Maya people.

Wow. I didn't know you guys worked on that. Didn't know that shot was CG either. Much of the CG in that one looked pretty damn real.
